Local residents and visitors will be given a second chance to see the exhibition of old photographs of Prestbury which was held over the recent Bank Holiday weekend.
Friends of Prestbury will be restaging the outdoor exhibition, depicting the evolution of Prestbury over the last 130 years, in Parrott's Field this Saturday, 18th June.
The exhibition has been organised to coincide with the Rose Queen Festival which will be taking place at Prestbury CofE Primary School.
Carol Hamilton, from Friends of Prestbury, said "Due to the many requests we have had from residents who missed the original showing we decided to set up the exhibition again this Saturday."
The exhibition stands will create a walkway through Parrotts Field where visitors can view almost one hundred photographs, the first of which dates back to the 1880's.
Gerald Sokl, Chairman of the Organising Committee, said "There are some fascinating photos and together they tell the story of how Prestbury has become what it is today.
"We've linked the photos to an explanation of changes that were driven by wider social and economic trends – it's a kind of visual history of the community as it is today."
In spite of the weather over the Bank Holiday, approximately 350-400 people visited the exhibition which really got people talking about the village and brought back some wonderful memories for many local residents.
The exhibition, which has been developed and is sponsored by Friends of Prestbury, is free and will be open on Saturday, 18th june, from 12pm until 5.30pm.
Pedestrian access is from the gate on Bridge Green Road, opposite the public WC's.
