Two women who went to school in Prestbury are keen to get together with old friends.

Lesley Armstrong and Ursula John, who left Prestbury CofE Primary School in 1977, are trying to organise a reunion for their class.

Lesley, 46, now loves in Melton Mowbray with her 14 year-old daughter, having moved away from Prestbury in 1997. She is a a Team Leader for Melton Borough Council's Repairs & Improvement department.

Ursula John, 45, is married with 3 boys, and lives in Guildford. She moved away from the village when she went to university, aged 18, and now plays and teaches the viola.

Lesley told me "We met up again after 33 years last year, through Facebook, and it was like we had only seen each other the week before!! We decided then that it would be good to find some of those friends we left behind and haven't seen for so long.

"We think it would be great to meet up with as many of the class to find out what they are doing now and where they are too. We had so many good memories, certainly of that final year.

"I have found another pupil who lives still locally, he is very interested in doing this - we talked for ages and remembered what good fun we had. We would like to be able to do that again with more people."

If you were a pupil at Prestbury CofE School and left in 1977, or know somebody who did, please get in touch via the comment box below or by emailing Lesley Armstrong.
