Prestbury Youth Pantomime Association's production of Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood was a huge success last week, reporting the best ticket sales for a number of years.
Vicky Hope, Chairman of Prestbury Youth Pantomime Association, said "The show was a great success and we received lots of applause and plaudits from the audiences.
"The cast of forty five 11 to 16 year olds put on a quality performance, showing lots of talent, energy and professionalism, providing a really fun family show. Of course it would not have been possible without the support of an essential 'army' of parents and grandparents who gave lots of time to front of house, backstage work, hair and makeup, costume, props and the all important clear-up on Sunday after the last night.
"It has been a rewarding and fun, community project, which participants and audiences gained much pleasure from. I offer my sincere thanks to all the committee members and the many people who gave their time to make it happen."
With the show only just over the team are already thinking ahead to next year's pantomime and need to create a new committee and helpers to ensure the show goes on. This year in particular the team are looking for support with props and costumes.
If you have been inspired by the Panto and want to see local youngsters from the ages of 11–18 continue to have the opportunity to be a part of a great show, please go along to their Annual General Meeting at Prestbury Primary School on Tuesday 13th March, starting at 7.30pm.
Planning for 2013 starts early this Spring, with the auditions to be held in early September, we will publish details nearer the time on prestbury.com.
